Emily & Daniel

June 11, 2011

Daniel and I met during the first week of our freshman year at the University of Kentucky. We both sat alone in a classroom of about 200 political science students – in the front row, overachieving as usual. Daniel introduced himself and asked if he could join me at my lone seat, and I awkwardly said sure. We sat together every day from that day forward. Daniel asked me out in January, and we have been together ever since!

We decided early on that we wanted our wedding to be 100% us! We wanted our guests to know that every detail was chosen because it represented us as individuals and as a couple. We wanted our ceremony to be short yet sweet, blending our cultural and religious backgrounds in a genuine and reverent way. We individually themed each centerpiece, allowing each of our guests to get to know us better while making the decision to choose a table a little bit more fun. If the guests weren’t already having a good time by dinner, we made sure they wouldn’t forget this special day with our photo booth, which made for an unforgettable and hilarious guest book.

Our favorite wedding day moment actually took place before the ceremony and celebration. Our photographer asked Daniel to turn around, close his eyes and open them when I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and with a smile from ear to ear gave me a hug and a kiss, holding me tightly. Daniel began to cry and explained to me how he had been contemplating all of the moments we had spent together and how far we had come as a couple.

There is no doubt in our mind that our vision could not have been carried out had it not been for Jaimeson Gann, from jacki & jaimeson, Wedding and Event Planners. She spent countless hours with us, listening to each dream and making sure that on our wedding day it was a reality!

Our wedding was at Yew Dell Gardens in Crestwood. We imagined a charming, laid-back and serene outdoor wedding, and we chose vendors that we felt could match that vision.

Could the day have been anymore perfect? If you add in homemade pies and the most amazing skyline Louisville has to offer, then we would have to say no.
