Carley & Bryan - A Stunning Summer Wedding

From the Bride: "Bryan and I met in the summer of 2001 at the tender young ages of 14 and 13, quickly becoming an inseparable pair.  After a few years of dating, we broke things off in high school during a particularly difficult time in my life.  While it was painful, the break in our relationship allowed us to forge individual paths, develop our own friendships, make objective decisions about college, and ultimately come to the independent realizations that we were supposed to be together.  We reunited my junior year at Centre College while Bryan was visiting a friend on campus.  When I hugged him for the first time, even after not speaking for almost four years, I knew that we would be married one day.

It's easy to become overwhelmed with conflicting visions during the planning stages.  We wanted our wedding to be a sweet and uncomplicated celebration of our future life together, but what I conjured up was anything but uncomplicated: a classy, elegant, vintage cottage with distinctly southern appeal.  We chose the Winchester Opera House in Winchester, KY as our ceremony and reception venue for the structure's historic charm and the staff's all-inclusive approach to weddings.

Taking cues from the classic quality of the Opera House, I selected the colors blush and navy.  I took great care in scouring the local Peddler's Malls for pink and seersucker fabric, lanterns, and old books, a tribute to my love of all things literary.  I spent even longer choosing the song for our first dance before settling on 'Swept Away' by the Avett Brothers.

I left the the execution of my muddled vision to our florist Neal Linville's capable hands, and it could not have turned out more beautifully.  Though we were beyond pleased with the final product, we both agree the highlight of our day was taking the time to read a short letter that each wrote the other.  Spending a few minutes reflecting on Bryan's words for me set my mind at ease and reminded me all at once why I know it was meant to be."
