Sweet Fall Wedding for Susan & Johnny

From the bride: Johnny and I met in the summer of 2010, but we had unknowingly crossed paths throughout the years before. We both grew up in the small town of Wilmore and had lots of mutual friends, went to the same church, and attended many of the same get-togethers. However, we didn't officially meet until we both started working at the same athletic club.

We instantly became inseparable. I would say it was "love at first sight", but I won't bore you with clichés. On the night of our engagement, I was expecting a nice dinner planned by Johnny. Instead, I came home to 182 tea-light candles making a path that led to my future husband. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and he put a ring on it!

We were married on October 27th, 2012; a day we'll never forget. Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of getting married in a traditional church in my hometown. Johnny also envisioned his wedding in a traditional church, like his mother and father. We did not want a themed wedding because we wanted something that represented us. By choosing this route, we were able to incorporate the things that we loved, like the music we played when my father walked me down the aisle.

Something that was very important to Johnny and I was having all of our family here because we both come from large families. The main vision we had for our special day was for it to be a celebration of the uniting of our families. A favorite moment that Johnny and I shared on our wedding day was having my maid of honor (my sister) pray over us before the ceremony began. Johnny made sure to keep his eyes closed so his first look would not be until I walked down the aisle. I was honored to have the privilege of wearing my mother's veil, which is an experience I will cherish forever.

Over breakfast that morning, my father and I shared tons of laughter and lots of tears as I was preparing to start this new chapter as a wife. Everyone's wedding day flies by, but we're thankful because we were able to step back and appreciate all of the little things and take it all in.
