Shereen & Matt - A Museum Wedding
When Matt and Shereen first met in middle school, we're sure they had no idea what was to transpire over the course of the next couple of decades. Nothing came of their first meeting, but six years later they met in college and it was a different story. After their second meeting, a few days of talking and flirting non-stop followed and they both knew they had found someone special. About a year and a half later, while backpacking through Europe, Matt proposed to Shereen on a dock in Venice, Italy. From that day on, it was wedding bells.
Shereen and Matt wanted a wedding that was unique, fun and representative of both of their personalities. Shereen's brother, John, officiated the wedding ceremony took that place on The Frazier History Museum's gorgeous rooftop, overlooking Louisville and the Ohio River. The reception was as beautiful as the ceremony, with food inspired by Matt and Shereen's Italian adventures, their first meal together and Shereen's Pakistani background . Guests toasted the newlyweds with Prosecco, a sparkling Italian wine, which the couple had drank on the night of their engagement. Shereen, an only daughter, shared an emotional father-daughter dance with her father, which was one of her favorite moments. Also, towards the end of the evening, 20 of Shereen's Chi Omega sorority sisters gathered around her to sing the Chi Omega toast.
Guests really enjoyed posing in the photo booth and they placed their pictures in the guestbook. These photographs, in combination with the pictures taken by Lauren Chapman and Robbie Gantt of openField Photography, provide incredible memories of this unforgettable day that Shereen and Matt will cherish forever.
