Mackenzie & Jake - A Winery Wedding
When it comes to hosting an outdoor wedding, the bride can only hope that the weather cooperates. As you browse through Mackenzie and Jake's wedding photos, you will see that not only was the weather nice, but it was just absolutely beautiful, which complimented this exquisite ceremony. We were truly blown away by the elegant details and colors of this wedding and we hope you will be too!
From the Bride: My husband I are high school sweethearts. I was friends with his brother since eighth grade and had my eye on throughout that whole time. It wasn't until I was a junior and he was a senior that he finally asked me on our first date, which took place on March 21, 2008.
We stayed together while I was at the University of Kentucky and he was at Eastern Kentucky University. We got engaged on October 27, 2012. Our vision for the wedding was simple, yet elegant. We knew right away that we wanted an outdoor ceremony and a reception in a rustic, but romantic location. Talon Winery was the perfect place for this as it was such an elegant and rustic venue already. We wanted our guests to feel comfortable and I think we definitely achieved that with our relaxed and loving environment.
My favorite moment of the day was our last dance of the night before we left. The song, "Come Away with Me," by Nora Jones, was romantic and I was so content with our wedding day and ecstatic about my new husband. During the dance, the excitement of our new life together washed over me. Our friends and family made a circle around us on the dance floor and swayed to the music. We felt so loved and supported. The day was absolutely perfect and better than I could have ever imagined.
