Bride Blogger Runner-Up: Brittany & Kiley
From the bride-to-be: Once upon a time in freshman gym class, I told a friend I was going to marry the boy I had just started dating. Nine years later, I'm planning our wedding. Our story has been boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, and now we are getting married! Our courtship began when we were just 15 years old. I said yes to Kiley when he asked me on our farm if I'd be his girlfriend. On January 10th, while sitting on our couch, Kiley got down on one knee and opened the ring box. I didn't even give him time to pop the question. I just leapt into his arms and began screaming and crying. Can you believe I didn't even stop to look at the ring? It was a total surprise which is exactly what he wanted. We are so happy to finally be getting married. I'm a special education teacher and Kiley is a business growth strategist here in Louisville, Kentucky. As a sucker for detail our wedding will be all about us. Our wedding will be this October at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with our reception on my family farm where it all began. We plan on incorporating southern traditions such as burying the bourbon, cake pulls, bourbon, and bowties with a few of our personal touches. For example, our hors d'oeuvres will be bite size pieces of pizza from a local pizza restaurant we've eaten at every Valentine's Day for 10 years. Even our cake topper is going to have our family on it, and by family, I mean our dogs. They are our children. We have grown so close to one another and cannot wait to begin to grow even closer as husband and wife!
