Bride Blogger Runner-Up: Hannah & Wes

From the bride-to-be: In our time spent in Jacksonville, Florida, Wes and I met and became friends. In the summer of 2012, we started working at the same school. We traveled to Orlando with our staff for a conference and ended up accidentally having dinner together. I had always known how much fun he was, but I had never really gotten to know who he was without all of our friends around.

On the first day of school we were the last two people to leave the building, and we decided to go to dinner. From that evening on, we spent as much time together as possible. After only a couple months I knew that Wes was the man I was supposed to marry. We even went venue shopping on a trip up to Lexington to visit family, and we fell in love with Keeneland.

On the day Wes proposed, I walked into my house to find a dozen roses and an envelope containing the first of seven clues for a scavenger hunt that would eventually lead me to Wes. The clues took me on a tour of all the places that had been significant to Wes and I over the course of our relationship. Finally, I arrived at my last stop and, of course, that’s when Wes asked me to marry him.

Of course, once I had the ring on my finger and I had called all my family and friends, my next call was to Keeneland. We booked the Keene Barn and haven’t looked back.

In the days since Wes asked me to be his wife, we have moved to Kentucky together and settled in our first home. I cannot wait for all the excitement 2014 will bring. I am so very glad that fate landed us both in Jacksonville back in 2010, and that I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.
