Bride Blogger Runner-Up: Tori & Jonathan

From the bride-to-be: After dating for over seven years, to say that I’m excited to finally be engaged to my best friend is a serious understatement. Jonathan proposed last October in St. George Island, FL as we were walking on the beach before dinner. It was very private, personal and romantic; he spent six months planning it!

We knew immediately that we wanted a fall wedding and to get married in Owensboro-our hometown. It's the town where we met and fell in love so it definitely holds a special place in our hearts. From there, everything just seemed to fall in place. The church and reception venues, band and photographer were all booked within a month of being engaged. Now we get to focus on the little things. The details. The part of the wedding that really makes it ours and that our guests will remember. The overall theme we’re going for is an elegant, vintage fall. The guys are wearing navy suits and the bridesmaids are wearing a mocha color dress. The fall aspect will be brought in with our flowers. We’re hoping to put our band outside on the patio overlooking the river so guests can literally dance under the stars. We all know that KY weather is always unpredictable, so we have a Plan B, don't worry!

We try to keep our loved ones in the forefront of our minds throughout planning because everything we do will be for them. Our wedding has quickly become centered on getting all of our family and friends in one place and celebrating together. Even though I am thrilled about planning our wedding and checking things off the never-ending To Do List, I am just as excited (if not a little more excited) to be starting our lives together. To us, being married will mean not being long distance any more. It’ll mean seeing each other every day and celebrating the little things together. Overall, I am over the moon excited to plan our wedding and begin this crazy thing called life with JB!
