Bride Blogger Runner-Up: Lauren & Jacob

From the bride-to-be: Oh Lawd! Where do I begin? Jake and I met many moons ago (2,349 moons to be exact - that's 6.5 years for you mathematicians out there) during our Junior year at UK. At the time, I was in a long-term relationship and he had a crush on my best friend...WHOOPS. Thankfully neither of those situations worked out, Jake and I wised up a few months later and we've been together ever since! Jake proposed to me on 11/24/13 in the most impossibly sweet way with his great-grandmother's diamond ring. After spending six years dating long distance, burning rubber along I-64 back and forth to Lou and Lex, we are thrilled to finally start our lives together.

Jake and I are passionate Kentucky residents, so its only fitting that our wedding will have a KY theme. I grew up in Louisville where I live with two girlfriends and work as the Director of Marketing for a restaurant group founded in KY called Wild Eggs. Jake grew up in Paducah and lives in Lexington where I will soon move to be with him. He is an up-and-coming, mover and a shaker, who is making a name for himself in the thoroughbred industry. Jake works at Taylor Made Farm in Nicholasville and spends his days dealing with the rich and often-famous as he arranges breedings and buys and sells horses for his clients.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to plan, and our wedding is the best opportunity I'll ever have to put my skills to good use! Over the next 9 months, we'll deal with the hilarities of my loving - but sometimes overwhelming - Mom, juggling work, moving and the adventures of house-buying, all while being involved in the weddings of 6 close friends and corralling my sisters who I affectionately refer to as The CoMohs.

This is going to be a year of love, laughter...and lets be real: stress. But at the end of the day I am marrying the man of my dreams and that's all that matters!
