Ellen & Chance - A Paducah Wedding

Ellen and Chance met in Jackson, Miss., when they were neighbors while attending classes. Ellen went to Millsaps College and Chance attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he was working on his Doctor of Physical Therapy. One day, they crossed paths spontaneously. Ellen immediately knew he was her perfect match, a faithful, family oriented Southern gentleman. They would go on to date for four years before Chance proposed to Ellen on New Years Eve of 2012 in her parents' living room for all to see. Ellen and Chance exchanged vows on July 13, 2013 in Paducah, Ky., at Broadway United Methodist Church. Family played a very important role in the couple's wedding. The bride wore an ivory wedding gown designed by Augusta Jones from The Bride Room in Nashville, Tenn. The gown was strapless with a sweetheart neckline and a natural waistline accented by a specially designed brooch from Paris by Debra Moreland. Ellen's older sister wore the same brooch and it was to be passed down to all the Davies girls. Ellen also wore her sister's veil,  adorned with Swarovski crystals. She carried a hand-tied bouquet wrapped with lace from her mother's wedding gown. Tied into the center of the bouquet was her 102-year-old grandmother's wedding band. She also wore pearl and diamond earrings, a wedding gift from her parents and a bracelet, which was a wedding gift from the groom. In addition to the bouquet, Ellen also carried the groom's childhood Bible that had been wrapped in an eyelet Bible cover from his mother. She also wore her mother's sapphire ring as something blue and her mother needle pointed the ring bearer's pillow.

The couple's reception was held at The Carson Center located on Paducah's famous riverfront. Their wedding band, The Cruisers, was a hometown favorite, giving the reception that perfect Southern twist. The delicious food, catered by Laura Duff's A Pampered Palate was arranged in small buffet stations throughout the venue.  Kentucky- and Mississippi themed stations reflected the couple's love story. A grilled cheese station was also available to guests. To complete the food, Maria Wilke designed beautiful bride's and groom's cakes.

In lieu of wedding favors, a donation was made to the American Red Cross in honor of their wedding guests. It was indeed a beautiful and memorable night for all.
