Whitney & Jeremy - Ireland In The Bluegrass

We love when a bride and groom make their wedding a unique and memorable event for themselves and their guests. So when we read about Whitney and Jeremy's Irish-themed wedding with a personalized ceremony, we couldn't wait to share it with all of you!

From the Bride: Jeremy and I met at very pivotal points in our lives. We were both making huge changes in our lives and we never saw each other coming. It was beyond fate that mutual friends introduced us on New Year's Eve in 2009 and changed our lives forever. I never dreamed I would meet someone as amazing, charming and funny as Jeremy.

After a few months of trying to deny the inevitable, our love of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and our endearing friends sparked a true and lasting friendship. Soon we were nicknamed "Murphney," a name that still stands today. Jeremy proposed to me in February of 2012, and I was so surprised when he got down on one knee. All the other patrons around us cheered and it was right out of the most romantic movies!

For my mother and I, one of the most important factors was the dress. In March 2012, we traveled to Atlanta where I filmed an episode of "Say Yes To The Dress Atlanta," the TLC show! The episode hasn't aired yet, but I was able to find the perfect princess wedding gown.

We held our rehearsal dinner at the historic Bell House in downtown Lexington, and on the chilly day of April 20, 2013, we joined our lives, including Jeremy's daughters Katelyn and Bryanna. The vision for our wedding was for it to be Irish-inspired, but with a Kentucky feel. The beautiful Red Mile Racetrack ended up being everything we wanted! Our central wedding color was shamrock green, and we continued the Irish theme with everything from Guinness beer to bells of Irish flowers on the tables. We wanted the entire event to reflect who we are and how much we love each other, so we wrote the entire ceremony ourselves and hand-picked each song for the ceremony and reception.

The highlight of the evening was the introduction of our wedding party. The adults raided the kids' bags and stole their shamrock green shutter shades to make a stylish entrance! The rest of the night included a fantastic party and dancing with all of our loved ones, and the next morning Jeremy and I left for our honeymoon in Jamaica!
