Michelle & Scott: A Rustic Vintage Affair
From the floral bridesmaid dresses & the groomsmens' knitted bowties, Michelle & Scott's wedding is simply darling. We are so happy to get to share it with you! So grab a cup of tea, sit back and enjoy! From the bride: Scott and I met in the theater. He was the sound engineer and I was the lead actress for a musical theater piece. His job was to make sure I sounded good every night! We spent the next 9 years falling in love. I traveled around the nation performing in national tours and NYC productions. Our love grew stronger and stronger even though we were separated by miles and miles. Eventually, I moved back to Lexington, where Scott and I met and where he was living, to obtain my music education degree.
The day after my older brother tied the knot, Scott proposed in NYC at our favorite restaurant. We were so excited and began planning soon after.
Our wedding was inspired by the combination of our personalities. Outdoor/rustic represents Scott's rugged outdoor adventure side. You can see this in all the burlap used and the beautiful outdoor setting at Shaker Village. The Victorian/Vintage look represents my softer side with the floral bridesmaid dresses, vintage teacups, pearls, and the romantic pink floral arrangements.
Every detail of our wedding was created and supplied by our friends and family. From the crocheted bow ties our friend made to the wedding arbor, also crafted by a friend. Even the amazing florals were designed and executed by my sister-in-law who owns her own wedding floral company based out of New York.
We loved our wedding day and set out for an amazing Jamaican honeymoon immediately after. About two weeks later after we returned home, we found out we were expecting our first child. Dreams really do come true!
