Rebecca & Jonathan - A Rustic Country Wedding

Here at Kentucky Bride, happily ever after is our favorite part of the fairy tale. So when we read Rebecca and Jonathan's story, we were excited to share it with you! From their rustic, "down-home" country feel, to the beautiful outdoor venue of a family farm, we hope you find their wedding as wonderful as we did. From the Bride: Although Jonathan and I were friends in high school and even attended a dance together, you can't really call us high school "sweethearts." It wasn't until two years after graduation that we met up again on a trip to Lake Cumberland. Somewhere along the way after several years of dating, completing degrees at separate colleges, and some time spent in a long-distance relationship, we both realized we had found something special in each other. We had discovered our best friend and found our life partner.

Jonathan and I were married on October 6, 2012 in the same small community church where each of our parents were married more than 25 years ago. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to celebrate our special day with our large families and closest friends! Family, friends and faith have always been top priorities in our lives.

My inspiration for much of our wedding was rustic decor to reflect our rural upbringing and deep country roots. With my cowgirl boots, the "Wagon Wheel" cocktails, tractors and hay wagons, large fields and old barns on my family's farm, our day had the feeling of home--a great place to celebrate our new life together. We enjoyed all the planning, and seeing all the details come together was an awesome feeling on our wedding day! Special shout out to all the vendors who helped make our dreams a reality.

Our favorite moment of the day? The whole thing! Jonathan and I chose not to see each other before the wedding, so it was a pretty special moment when the church doors opened and I saw him standing at the end of the aisle with a big smile on his face. The cocktail reception at my parent's farm and the reception that followed was absolutely awesome. Everyone was dancing and having a great time, and our guests called it the best reception ever...and we have to agree! We are so thankful to everyone who helped make our day possible.
