Layne & Matthew - A Classic Louisville Wedding
Here at Kentucky Bride, we see lots of down home country weddings throughout the state. But for Layne and Matthew, a classic wedding was just the ticket. We're excited to share their beautiful wedding with you!
From the Bride: Although we barely knew each other growing up, Matt and I were raised in the same small Western Kentucky community. After several years of college, we became better acquainted through mutual friends. In 2007, after a few months of dating, our growing friendship grew into a committed relationship. Matt popped the question in 2011--then we excitedly started planning a summer 2012 wedding!
As we began to envision our wedding, we pictured a fun venue for our guests that centered on a timeless and classic theme. The beautiful St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church and the historic Seelbach Hotel seemed to perfectly fit the bill. In memory of my feisty little grandmother, "Nan," we had "big band" music playing softly in the background of dinner for just the right touch of nostalgia.
Staying organized and on task with the help of a delightful planner made for a very enjoyable and stress-free experience. Our wedding day was everything we envisioned and more. The weather was perfect and everyone involved seemed to have a great time. Our favorite part of the day would have to be our "first look." We chose to have private pictures taken before the ceremony so we could have that special moment when we saw each other for the first time in our wedding apparel. For Matt and me, that moment, as well as the remainder of the evening, was simply magical.
