This sweet, summer wedding at The Coal Reserve in Somerset was a dream come true for these two high school sweethearts! The photos, by Dani Ford Photography, perfectly capture the heartfelt emotion of a couple simply in love. We hope you enjoy reading the bride's story & getting a sneak peek into their special day as much as we did!

From the bride: My husband, Christopher, & I met my sophomore year in high school. He was a senior football player & I was a cheerleader. From the moment I met him, I knew that he was a man unlike any other. Since then we have had our share of ups & downs, but our hearts have always belonged to one another. In 2013 we moved to Pikeville for his first year as a medical student at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. We had talked about marriage several times, but with the cost of medical school we knew we couldn't afford much.

I was at the lake on my grandparent's houseboat on a weekend in June. Christopher had been unable to make it, but on Saturday he showed up & completely surprised me. We were sitting on the end of the dock that evening watching the sunset on Lake Cumberland when he turned to me & got down on one knew. We were so ready to be married that we successfully planned our wedding in only 5 weeks! Our summer wedding was reflective of our love for each other: natural, simple, & sweet. We chose to have an intimate wedding in our hometown of Somerset with only 75 of our closest friends & family. It was the most magical & wonderful day of my life.

We didn't do a "first look" because we wanted the first time we saw each other that day to be the moment I walked down the aisle (& boy, was it worth it)! Those moments were so short, but so precious. I was so excited to be Christopher's wife that I wanted to pick up my dress & run to him! My legs were shaking so bad that I was sure I would pass out. When I finally reached him, he took my hands & I felt right at home. I will never forget that moment, as we stood gazing into each other's eyes on that warm, breezy, summer day. It was perfect in every way, & I wouldn't have changed a thing.
