Kentucky Barn Wedding

We love the way this ceremony incorporated the feel of a "church wedding" into the rustic, outdoor setting. Who would have thought to take church pews outside? So cool!

From the photographer: Madison and Justin’s wedding took place on a cool autumn day on a private ranch just outside of Louisville. There were so many details about this Kentucky wedding that I enjoyed. The setting was absolutely stunning with beautiful views of rolling green hills, a rustic barn that had been finished inside for comfort, horse fencing, and trees. Madison wanted the feel of a church wedding, while being outdoors, and she actually pulled it off! The ceremony location was given a unique vibe by bringing in church pews, custom made wooden doors, a metal cross, and lots of flowers. Madison arrived in a horse drawn carriage and then walked down the aisle bursting with joy. The ceremony was designed to celebrate the couple’s union and honor God—the creator of their marriage. They braided a strand of three chords symbolizing the unity in marriage both with each other and with God during the ceremony. I loved seeing their affection and their love for one another displayed in front of everyone. Madison looked absolutely stunning in her dress and her unique shoes with the words “I do” written on the bottom. After the ceremony, we took time to create some laid-back photos, and then it was time to head into the barn for the reception.
