Erika and Cameron's Wedding

From the bride: I tried my best to make sure everything we did or included in our wedding was intentional and truly US. The groom and I are huge lovers of family, friends and entertaining people in our home. So it made sense that we only invited family and close friends. People who had truly loved us, invested in us and made us the people we are today. We wanted our wedding to be an event where people felt comfortable and welcome. We served BBQ in a barn and ate cupcakes and donuts as snacks. We are also HUGE coffee people, which made choosing coffee as our wedding favor very easy. We called them "grounds for celebration". We had a darker roast to represent the groom and a blonde roast to represent the bride. I am not a huge fan of bright and crazy colors. I love neutrals and pretty, classic color schemes. Because I wanted our wedding to feel like us I chose, white, green, grey and gold as our wedding colors. I wanted looking back on our photos and our wedding to feel timeless. Trends come and go but classic, clean colors stand the test of time.

Our love of family and Jesus was evident through both the ceremony and the reception. There were a lot of loving words exchanged, sentimental songs played and tears shed. I truly have two favorite parts that are fairly close to one another. Standing outside the barn doors before I walked down the aisle, I was holding my Pepaw (name for my grandfather who walked me down the aisle) so tight and could see the groom through the slats of the barn. My wedding song started to play and it felt like all my dreams had come true. I looked at my Pepaw and said "oh my gosh, this is really happening". As a little girl you dream of this day and this man who will be your husband. I felt so blessed by God and overwhelmed in that moment, it took my breath away. Once the doors opened and we finally saw each other, the look on his face was all my own emotions displayed in someone else. Seeing the tears in his eyes but the smile on his face was the perfect representation of how I was feeling. All I could do was mouth "I love you" to him and grin from ear to ear. When I asked the groom he had a similar favorite memory. Standing at the alter and waiting on the doors to open. He said the anticipation of getting married and finally seeing me in my dress was overwhelming, but in a good way.
