Hannah + Matthew's Pineville Wedding

From the Bride: All brides think their wedding day is the most special day, and honestly it is. Each couple has this unique story to tell and vision for their perfect day, and to watch it come together is poetic. So obviously I wanted our wedding day to be nothing short of perfection. Though perfection doesn’t exist, I dare say we came incredibly close. It was southern romantic at it’s finest, and it was the personal touches that tied everything together in a perfect bow.

Every girl dreams of finding “the one,” but in my case I didn’t have to look too far. We started out dating in middle school, and despite all odds, he wanted to marry me. I can’t explain how incredible marrying your best friend feels. Someone who knows every detail about you, the good and the bad, yet still wants to spend the rest of his life keeping you safe and making you feel loved. Being a Kentucky State Trooper, it was important to Matthew for us to be married at a special Kentucky venue. We felt a state park would be the ideal backdrop for our romantic, outdoor vision. We knew when we started planning we not only wanted a wedding that reflected the feelings we share for each other, but most importantly the feelings we hold for putting God first in our relationship. We decided no matter the venue, we were marrying in front of a wooden cross. Matthew’s dad built a cross for us, and this was such a sacred and beautiful centerpiece of our wedding.

On the morning of our big day, we hiked Chained Rock in the early morning hours to capture our first look at sunrise. It was such a special time for us to see each other in that first light of day, in our tux and dress, but not yet fully ready for the day. Our ceremony took place at the Laurel Cove Amphitheater at Pine Mountain State Resort Park. I wore my Aunt Heather’s jewelry as my something borrowed, and it made me feel special and wrapped in love. Afterwards, our reception took place overlooking the gorgeous Wasioto Winds Golf Course as the sun was setting. It was the perfect ending to the perfect day. It marked the start of the next chapter of our story, and the beautiful beginning to the rest of our lives together.
