Molly + Patrick's NYE Wedding

From the Bride: Patrick and I are high school sweethearts. We met our Sophomore year and we started off as friends, but after a year of friendship and a little bit of persistence on one side, our friendship grew into love and I realized I forever needed this person in my life. We dated for seven years until he proposed in a diamond-decorated igloo on 8UP rooftop in downtown Louisville on November 27, 2019! By far one of my most happiest days of my life! We started planning fairly quickly after that. We had our date, venue, and the church for the ceremony all picked out. I had found the dress of my dreams in February and then all a sudden we kept hearing this strange word called Covid-19. And as all of us know, things came to screeching halt in March. Once the pandemic came, we thought we would be fine come the end of December, and things would be back to normal. We were wrong. We decided to go ahead and get married in 2020 regardless with just immediate family attending at the ceremony. We had 17 people attend our ceremony, all family, except my Maid-of-Honor. The ceremony was absolutely perfect, decorated with Christmas trees and red poinsettias throughout the church. The most perfect New Year’s Eve setting, surrounded by love ones.

When we arrived at Louisville Country Club, we had happy hour in their River Room surrounded by a roaring fire. When it came time for dinner, my day-of-coordinator took Patrick and I up to the double doors that lead into the library, she wanted us to be the first ones to see it. When she opened the doors and we walked in, tears immediately came to my eyes. The library looked as though it should have been in a movie it was decorated so beautifully. We had one long table right down the middle of the room with white Playa Blanca roses, silver eucalyptus, and gold candles serving as the center piece. She had gold candles sporadically placed in the book case that went all the way up to the ceiling, just glittering the entire time. On our gold chargers, I had linen napkins monogrammed in emerald green, tied with a satin bow. At the end of the room was the cake table, with two Christmas trees placed on either side. On the cake table we had more gold candles and I had both Patrick's and my parents and grandparents wedding photos framed and they surrounded the cake. Louisville Country Club made our cake and as our topper, I used my grandparents’ topper they used at their wedding. This was such a memorable part of my wedding because my parents had use the same one on their cake and I was glad I got to carry on the tradition. The night ended by parents and siblings standing up and giving speeches. It was so special, because at a normal size reception a lot of those people would not have had the chance to speak. Tears were shed, laughs rang out, and memories were definitely made on December 31st, 2020. Now, we cannot wait to celebrate and make more memories with ALL family and friends at our reception on December 31st, 2021!
