From the Bride: Our wedding was one of the most memorable and exciting days of our lives. We chose Limestone Hall because it was perfect for location for all of our guests to stay at neighboring hotels and to walk to the venue. We also chose the location because we lived in downtown Lexington for the majority of our relationship and the venue represented a chapter of our lives that we were closing to begin the next step as a married couple.

We were very intentional with the look of our ceremony. We wanted our ceremony space to be transitional to the cocktail room and dining hall. With Limestone Hall being in the old courthouse, we focused on creating a soft and romantic appearance. We had an “over grown” aisle with white floral arrangements lining each row and a focal point of a floral arch covering a door frame for the ceremony. Our cocktail room displayed a monogram dance floor with white floral accents surrounding our amazing band, and our dining hall was filled with tall arrangements at every table along with textured linens. We had a sheer pipe and drape lining the room which created a bright and dreamy dining experience for all of our guests.

Some key moments during our reception had to be our champagne tower, ending the night with Goodfella’s pizza and my reception dress. I reimagined my mother’s Bob Mackie wedding dress and created a mid-length off-the-shoulder gown with a removable train that I wore during the reception. Wearing this beautiful dress was such a special moment that I shared with my mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We danced our first dance to “(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons” by Nat King Cole. September 24th will forever be one of the best days of our lives, #longlivethekings.

Bride’s Advice: My sister, Katie, also got married this past year. We both shared in the joys of wedding planning. It was actually pretty special that I was able to share this moment with my sister! I think we both, along with our husbands, felt as though the wedding day went by so fast! I would tell any bride-to-be to take a moment throughout your big day to soak up the energy, the venue and people that have joined you to celebrate the love and commitment of you and your soon-to-be husband.
