Bailey + Walker's Frankfort Wedding
With fewer than 60 guests in attendance, Bailey and Walker intentionally created a wedding day that felt deeply personal and intimate, surrounding themselves only with the people who had played a meaningful role in their lives over the past two years. Every detail reflected their love, beginning with a ceremony officiated by the bride's aunt, whose firsthand knowledge of their relationship made the occasion even more heartfelt. Rather than having a traditional bridal party, the couple chose to stand alongside only two best men and two maids of honor, who remained seated during the ceremony so they could fully share in the moment.
Set against the backdrop of Castle & Key Distillery, the celebration embraced a soft, whimsical aesthetic with light, airy florals that created a fairytale atmosphere. The couple exchanged personal vows in front of their closest family and friends, offering an intimate glimpse into their commitment to one another. Instead of focusing on an extensive list of formal family portraits, they prioritized documenting the moments they shared together as newlyweds. One of the bride's favorite memories was walking partway down the aisle alone before her father joined her. "It gave me a quiet moment to soak everything in before the ceremony began," she shared.
The reception continued the intimate atmosphere with two long dinner tables that encouraged conversation and connection among guests. Forgoing many traditional reception moments—including the father-daughter dance and bouquet toss—the couple chose instead to spend the evening celebrating on the dance floor with family and friends. Dinner featured a relaxed pasta bar and taco bar, both of which were guest favorites and perfectly suited the warm, welcoming feel of the celebration.
One of the most meaningful decisions the couple made was to remain together for nearly the entire wedding day. After their first look, Walker and Bailey spent no more than a minute apart for the remainder of the celebration. "We wanted to experience every moment together, side by side, and truly soak in the day as a couple," Bailey said. One of her favorite memories came immediately after the ceremony, when the newlyweds slipped away for a quiet walk through the gardens. "It was such a peaceful, beautiful pause before joining our family and friends, and it gave us a chance to really savor the fact that we were now husband and wife."
For dessert, guests enjoyed a Kentucky bourbon-flavored wedding cake, a fitting nod to the Bluegrass setting. The couple shared their first dance to "Shake the Frost," creating another memorable moment in an evening centered on love, family, and togetherness.
Looking back on the planning process, Bailey encourages engaged couples to protect time for one another. "I wish someone had told me to schedule 'no wedding planning days' with my fiancé," she said. While she loved being involved in every detail, she realized afterward that wedding planning had taken over much of their engagement. Her advice is to make time for regular date nights, trust your wedding planner, and remember to enjoy the season of being engaged. "It's important to stay involved, but it's also okay to let the professionals take the lead on certain things."
