Kelsey + Brody's Louisville Wedding
One of the things Kelsey and Brody loved most about their wedding day was being able to spend the entire celebration in one place. From getting ready that morning to the final dance of the evening, every moment unfolded at Hurstbourne, allowing them to relax and fully enjoy the experience. While the bride and her attendants prepared for the day ahead, the groomsmen arrived early to spend time together in the venue's golf simulators. Before the ceremony, the couple and their wedding party gathered in a private space known as "The Eagle's Nest," where they shared champagne, listened to their favorite music, and enjoyed time together before the festivities began. From their upstairs vantage point, they were even able to watch guests arrive and take their seats. "It was so sweet," the bride shared.
One of the bride's favorite memories was the time she and Brody spent together throughout the day. After their first look, they made a point to stay side by side and experience every moment together. "Brody and I spent every second together," she said. "We never had to separate and really got to experience the whole day by each other's side." The celebration also included a unique tribute to the bride's connection with Sigma Chi Fraternity. Having served as the International Sweetheart of Sigma Chi, she was joined by fraternity members who traveled from across the country to celebrate. During the reception, they surprised her by serenading her with the Sweetheart Song, with fellow Sigma Chi Sweethearts in attendance joining in the special tradition.
The evening concluded with an intimate final dance that became one of the couple's most cherished memories. After guests exited the reception space, the DJ cleared the room, leaving the newlyweds alone to dance to Harry Styles' "Love of My Life." Unbeknownst to them, a close friend quietly slipped into the room and filmed the moment. "We didn't even know she was there, and now we have that memory on film," the bride said.
For dessert, guests eagerly lined up for the couple's wedding cake: Mert's Cakes' beloved "Mamaw's Butter Cake" with caramel filling. The cake was such a hit that it disappeared almost immediately. "There was literally none left," the bride recalled. "People couldn't get a slice fast enough."
The couple shared their first dance to Noah Kahan's "Forever," a fitting soundtrack for the beginning of their marriage.
Looking back on the planning process, Kelsey encourages engaged couples to savor every moment. "Cherish each and every moment, even the seemingly mundane tasks," she advised. "This is a very special time that you won't get to experience again, and it all goes by way too fast."
