Kennedy + Caleb's Versailles Wedding
Our wedding day was centered around a timeless, heartfelt atmosphere that reflected both tradition and the deep relationships in our lives. We chose a historic church with a classic steeple to capture the charm of a traditional white church wedding, but the day itself felt relaxed and joy-filled rather than formal. Having been together since we were 15, it meant so much to be surrounded by our large, loving families and closest friends as we celebrated not just our marriage, but the journey that brought us there. One of the most meaningful moments for me was sharing first looks not only with Caleb and my dad, but also with my 13 siblings—a reflection of my role as the oldest and the deep bond we share.
During the ceremony, our officiant—who was also our high school youth pastor—asked us to pause and take in the faces of everyone gathered. Holding Caleb’s hand in that moment, I felt overwhelmed with gratitude for the people who have shaped us and taught us how to love so well. Throughout the day, so many details carried personal meaning, from signage painted by my college roommate to makeup done by a mentor from my youth group, and even my mom creating the florals herself the morning of the wedding. Cocktail hour outside the church felt like a joyful block party, complete with live acoustic music from one of Caleb’s childhood friends.
We wanted every part of the day to reflect our story, our faith, and our community. We served breakfast for dinner—our favorite meal to share—along with a mimosa bar for a fun, celebratory touch. Guests enjoyed a two-tier cake with red velvet and cinnamon flavors, along with homemade cinnamon rolls, one of our favorite treats. As a personal project, we collected 160 vintage colored glasses for guests to use and take home as favors. With the help of Caleb’s aunt and uncle as our planners, everything came together seamlessly, allowing us to fully soak in the day. We ended the night driving away in his grandfather’s truck, tin cans trailing behind—a perfect ending to a day filled with love and meaning.
